ANECDOTES: This product was in development for several years under the name North Maine Double Coat, made in Jacquard Fabric. A number of samples were made and sold but in the end we felt two layers of the FullWeight Jacquard fabric was too bulky around the shoulders, and when we developed the denim fabric, we felt it to be the perfect fit. (But the people with the North Maine Double Coat really like it and believe we should go into production with that, as well!)

SHIPPING: In-stock orders usually ship within 2 business days

OUT OF STOCK ITEMS: If your choice is out of stock, you have three optional next moves outside of picking something else.

The best way to keep in touch with our production schedule is our NEWSLETTER. Sign up, and you'll always be up to date with what's coming down the pipeline .

If the timeline isn't a concern and you know you absolutely want this exact item, place a Ship ASAP reservation for the next production. This guarantees you are locked in at the price, but please understand production timelines range anywhere from 1-3 years.

CARE AND CLEANING: Wool’s anti-static properties help make it self-cleaning and odor-resistant, so it should not need frequent washing. It may not even need rare washing. If your wool does not seem dirty, don't feel obligated to clean it ... even if you have not cleaned it for years. More details about spot cleaning and submersion washing can be found on our care and cleaning page.
